USDOE Proposed Funding for Hanford

USDOE is currently seeking comments on its proposed budget for Hanford.  Each year, USDOE is required to prepare an annual budget that is consistent with the requirements in the Tri-Party Agreement.  The Tri-Party Agreement is the binding agreement between the Washington State Department of Ecology, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and the U.S. Department of Energy to clean up the Hanford Site.To find out more information on the USDOE budget process and proposed 2010 and 2011 budget, link here.

American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Hanford Stimulus Funding)

The Federal Government has allocated funding to Hanford as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. 

 

“This investment is great news for the Tri-Cities community and the state of Washington. Not only will this funding create jobs for the mid-Columbia area, it accelerates the cleanup of the most dangerous contaminated site in the nation.
