The First Nuclear Bombs
Hanford has not been involved in weapons production since 1989. How humanity will remember the use of nuclear bombs by the USA in Japan as time marches on remains to be seen.
The fact is, these bombs were built, and if you ask your grandparents, most will say it was a necessary act.
People who worked at Hanford and other sites involved in weapons production have a fierce pride and sense of patriotism that continues to this day.
The below picture shows Robert Oppenheimer and General Leslie Groves at Ground Zero, at New Mexico's Trinity Test Site (currently the White Sands Missile Range).
