MyEIM

Ecology has replaced the sediment data management and analysis tool (SEDQUAL) with the Environmental Information Management (EIM) System and MyEIM.

EIM stores Ecology's environmental data on Washington’s air, water, soil, sediment, aquatic animals and plants. We have migrated SEDQUAL's sediment chemical and biological data to EIM.

External Access

MyEIM is a personalized web page as well as a blend of three applications: Custom Search Tool, Analysis Tool, and GIS Mapping Tool to assess environmental data stored in EIM. A MyEIM User Manual (22 mb) is available. External users must register through "SecureAccess Washington (SAW)" for internet access to MyEIM.

You can use the Custom Search Tool to customize your data search by defining your own set of criteria on nearly every field in EIM.
You can use the Analysis Tool to analyze chemical and biological data. You can compare environmental data to regulatory and non-regulatory standards for sediment as well as other cleanup standards in the Toxics Cleanup Program’s Cleanup Levels and Risk Calculations Information System.
You can use the GIS Mapping Tool to display locations of EIM data obtained with the Custom Search Tool and/or analyzed with the Analysis Tool.

EIM Data Submittal

You must submit electronic data in EIM format and a Data Report that details the sampling results. Sediment-related data needs to be entered into EIM using the following form and spreadsheets:

EIM Study Form: Study or Project information.
EIM Location Spreadsheet: Location or Station ID with its horizontal information (latitude/longitude) and vertical information (water depth from Mean Lower Low Water to the sediment bed surface, upper and lower sediment sampling depth).
Use the EIM Result spreadsheet for:
Sediment Chemistry: Sediment chemical concentrations.
Benthic Infauna or Taxonomy Abundance: Species abundance and diversity.
Tissue Bioaccumulation or Chemistry: Tissue chemical concentrations, taxonomic name of the organism collected and/or tissue type analyzed.
Tissue Pathology: Tissue pathology such as tumors or lesions, taxonomic name of the organism collected and/or tissue type analyzed.
Use the EIM Bioassay spreadsheet for:
Sediment Bioassay: Bioassay Test, Reference, Positive and Negative Control results.

You must follow the Sediment Related EIM Data Entry Business Rules in Subappendix E of Sediment Sampling and Analysis Plan Appendix, revised February 2008 when entering data in EIM format.
