
The principle purpose of the workshop is to provide a forum for participants to ask questions about trust water rights generally, and to share experiences gained from case studies of several water acquisition projects. Another workshop objective was to bring together organizations with different roles in the water acquisition process to continue building a statewide network of “trust water savvy” people.
On September 13, 2007, Ecology hosted a workshop at Hal Holmes Auditorium in Ellensburg to present the updated draft guidance document for the Trust Water Rights Program. The workshop was attended by participants from Ecology, Fish and Wildlife, the Conservation Commission, the Washington Water Trust, Washington Rivers Conservancy, US Bureau of Reclamation, North Yakima Conservation District, Kittitas Conservation District, and Soil Conservation Service.
