Emergency Order No. 00-03

To: Washington State Fire Marshal

Washington State Department of Agriculture ("WSDA")

Washington State Department of Ecology ("DOE")

And To: All local air authorities, fire districts, counties, and any other state or local burn permitting authorities

This emergency order terminates Emergency Orders No. 00-01 and 00-02 issued by the Governor on August 11 and 19, 2000, respectively, instituting a statewide burn ban and exemptions thereto, pursuant to the Proclamation of Governor, dated August 8, 2000, proclaiming a state of emergency in Washington due to the present severe risk of wild fire in Washington State.

Whereas, fire conditions across the state are no longer uniformly severe enough to warrant a blanket, statewide burn ban; and

Whereas, local and independent state agencies are ready and able to institute discrete burn bans in the areas where warranted by extreme wild fire risk;

NOW, THEREFORE, I hereby declare and order that Emergency Orders No. 00-01 and 00-02 are terminated, effective at 12:01 A.M, September 4, 2000.

This order is subject to suspension or modification by further order of the Governor, without prior notice.

SO ORDERED, this 4th day of September, 2000.
