TransAlta Agreement
In 2011, the Washington State Legislature passed a law replacing the
nitrogen oxides portion of the state's mediated agreement with
TransAlta.
Final Documents Related to the Mediation Agreement
NOTE: These documents are related to the state’s mediated
agreement for limits on TransAlta’s emissions of mercury and
nitrogen oxides. The nitrogen oxide limits are part of Ecology's
Best Available Retrofit Technology (BART) determination. This agreement is separate from the state’s
negotiations with TransAlta for reductions of greenhouse gas emissions.
