Washington's Greenhouse Gas Reporting Rule Workshops

Workshops for Chapter 173-441 WAC - Reporting of Emissions of Greenhouse Gases rule making.

House Bill 2815 directs the Department of Ecology to establish a new chapter, Chapter 173-441 WAC – Reporting of Greenhouse Gases. The Washington State Department of Ecology is conducting a series of workshops to let you know about upcoming requirements for owners or operators of stationary and mobile sources of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to begin reporting emissions. Certain stationary and mobile sources of GHG emissions will need to report their calendar year emissions, beginning with the reporting of 2009 emissions in 2010. Reporting is required if your annual GHG emissions are equal to or greater than:

2,500 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalents CO₂e) annually from a fleet of on-road motor vehicles; or
10,000 metric tons CO₂e annually from a stationary source, a mobile source for transporting people or cargo, or a combination of these stationary and mobile sources.

You are invited to attend a workshop in October 2009 to learn more about:

Who will have to report,
When reporting will begin,
What will need to be reported, and
How to report.

These workshops will cover reporting of emissions from stationary and mobile sources.
The workshops are open to the public.
