This site is intended for use by the Wood Smoke Work Group formed
by the Washington Legislature in Substitute House Bill 2261
(SHB2261) and the Wood Smoke Advisory Committee.
The work group's mission is to study the effects of wood smoke
from wood stoves and other solid fuel burning devices on Washington
communities. It will then recommend to the legislature
practical and cost-effective ways to reduce exposure to wood smoke.
The Advisory Committee's mission is to complete work on nine
strategies or other strategies that might be added by committee
members. The Advisory Committee will make recommendations to
the Air Quality Program for possible inclusion in Agency request or
Governor request legislation.
This site contains information to help the work group and
advisory committee coordinate
their activities and work toward accomplishing their mission.
