Ecology Home Heating Burn Bans

Sign up to receive email updates about all burn bans.

Ecology calls burn bans only in counties where there is no local clean air agency.  These counties are: Adams, Asotin, Chelan, Columbia, Douglas, Ferry, Franklin, Garfield, Grant, Kittitas, Klickitat, Lincoln, Okanogan, Pend Oreille, San Juan, Stevens, Walla Walla, and Whitman Counties.

Stage 2 (Red) Burn Bans (ALL burning is banned) in:

Stage 1 (Yellow) Burn Bans (using uncertified wood stoves or fireplaces, outdoor burning, and forest burning are banned) in:
  • Kittitas, Chelan, Douglas, Okanogan, Ferry, Stevens and Pend Oreille countiesbegins 4 p.m., Friday Nov. 27; scheduled to end at 10 a.m., Tuesday Dec. 1
  • Check for all Washington counties.
  • Check for weekend updates.

Note: Burn bans do not apply to homes with no other source of heat.
