| Facility Description: |
The Tenaska Washington Partners Ferndale Cogeneration Station is a
combined-cycle cogeneration facility that produces electric power,
steam, and hot water from the combustion of natural gas. The electric
power generated is transferred to the Puget Sound Energy Company grid.
The steam and hot water are transferred to the adjacent Conoco Phillips
Refining Company for use in the oil refining process. Tenaska produces
electricity and steam on an intermittent basis as electrical demand and
economic factors allow. The cogeneration facility consists of two
General Electric (GE) Frame 7 EA combined-cycle gas turbines with
supplementary-fired heat recovery steam generators (HRSG) and an
extraction/condensing steam turbine, as well as equipment for fuel oil
storage, an electrical switchyard, and equipment for water treatment and
combustion turbine compressor cleaning. This facility has a nominal
combined electrical output capacity of 270 megawatts (MW). |
