Laboratory Accreditation Rule (WAC 173-50) Update

The Washington Department of Ecology has amended a rule to address a funding deficit for the State Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program. The 2009 legislature authorized Ecology to increase fees in the 2009-2011 biennium as necessary to meet the actual costs of conducting business. The rule changes include increasing the fees for accreditation and changing some Ecology business practices to reduce operating costs.
