Boeing Fabrication Auburn Plant

Draft Remedial Investigation (RI) Report   en español

The Remedial Investigation (RI), is the first phase in Washington’s four-part cleanup process for contaminated sites. The RI, which began in 2002, has evaluated the location, size and impacts of underground contamination that extends more than a mile north and northwest of Boeing’s property. It provides information needed for the next steps: evaluating cleanup options, preparing a cleanup action plan, and doing the cleanup work and any follow-up monitoring that may be needed.

Draft Remedial Investigation (RI) Report

The Draft RI Report uses the findings from the entire investigation to define the nature, extent, and magnitude of the contamination in order to identify the best methods for cleanup. For more information about the Draft RI Report you can:

Access the full draft RI Report online or view a hard copy at the following locations:

  • Department of Ecology

To date, the chemicals found are at low levels that are not expected to pose a risk to human health or the environment. If chemicals are found to be an immediate risk, Ecology will direct Boeing to implement Interim Action to reduce risk.
