Health Effects and Concerns
VOCs and TCE can enter the body through touching, breathing, and swallowing. This is referred to as exposure.
How TCE will affect someone is hard to determine, especially without knowing exactly how much that person was exposed to, for how long, or how often. The United States Agency for Toxic Substance & Disease Registry has more information on TCE.
Short-term exposure to high levels of some VOCs can cause headaches, dizziness, light-headedness, drowsiness, nausea, and eye and respiratory irritation. These effects usually go away after the exposure stops.
