Governor's Award for Sustainable Practices

The Governor's Award for Sustainable Practices will not be offered in 2009, another sacrifice due to the budget pressures facing the Department of Ecology. We are planning to resume the award in 2010, if the resources are available. The award, offered since 1991, previously skipped 1994 when Ecology underwent a major reorganization.

The 2008 Winners
Two commercial and two not-for-profit businesses won the 2008 Governor’s Award for Sustainable Practices.

  • Canyon Creek Cabinet Company, Monroe
  • N.W. Bloom - EcoLogical Landscapes, Mill Creek
  • Seattle Children's Hospital, Seattle
