Governor's Award for Sustainable Practices
Recognizes Use of Sustainable Practices
The Governor’s Award for Sustainable Practices recognizes businesses, organizations, schools, and agencies that incorporate sustainable practices into their operations:
- Reducing their use of hazardous substances
- Conserving energy, water, and other materials
- Increasing their use of recycled materials
- Designing sustainability into their products and
processes
2010 or Not? Announcement in March
Ecology is considering offering the Governor’s Award for
Sustainable Practices in 2010. We should announce the decision
in early March. Ecology suspended the award in 2009 due to
budget pressures.
The 2008 Winners Two commercial and two not-for-profit businesses won the 2008 Governor’s Award for Sustainable Practices.

- Canyon Creek Cabinet Company, Monroe
- N.W. Bloom - EcoLogical Landscapes, Mill Creek
- Seattle Children's Hospital, Seattle
