Develop Your P2 Plan
Certain businesses are required to prepare Pollution Prevention (P2) Plans. In the plan, they can identify opportunities to voluntarily:
Regular planning helps measure these efforts over time. Ecology′s Toxics Reduction Specialists also use the data to help businesses turn these opportunities into results.
Taking advantage of P2 opportunities makes workplaces safer, saves money on hazardous products and disposal costs, and helps businesses stay in compliance.
Which reports does my company need to submit?

A plan is required if your business or facility:
We will contact you if you are required to submit a P2 Plan. Regulations for Pollution Prevention Plans are under WAC 173-307.
When is the plan due?
Submit P2 Plans by September 1 of each year. We will contact you if you are required to submit a P2 Plan.
How do I submit with TurboPlan?
TurboPlan is a web tool that guides you through your Pollution Prevention Plan. It can chart your data over time, showing trends in production, hazardous substance use, waste, and energy use.
You'll need to create a username and password if you don't already have one. After you log in, the site will guide you through the steps. Learn more.
Is there a fee?
Businesses and facilities that are required to complete a plan may also be charged a fee, called the Hazardous Waste Planning Fee. We'll send you an invoice if you're required to pay the fee, which is due by July 1 each year.

Can I use my Environmental Management System?
Some facilities may qualify to use an Environmental Management System (EMS) instead of completing a Pollution Prevention Plan. This alternative is intended for facilities that have an EMS in place. Ecology recognizes the value of these management systems and encourages facilities that qualify to use them.
