This alternative is intended for facilities which have an Enviromental Management System in place. Ecology recognizes the value of these management systems and encourages their use by allowing facilities to apply to participate in this alternative to Pollution Prevention Planning. The following documents contain the information you need.
Environmental Management System (EMS) Alternative to Pollution Prevention Planning is a short document describing how a planning facility can apply for the EMS alternative and the criteria for remaining in the program once a system is approved. A number of facilities in the state have been approved to use this alternative.
Environmental Management Systems: An Implementation Guide for Small and Medium-Sized Organizations is designed primarily for use by EMS implementers. This guide will help people in a small or medium-sized organization in their EMS development effort.
