Background—ERP in WashingtonUnder a State Innovation Grant from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Ecology developed the Auto Body Pilot in partnership with the auto body industry and local governments. The Auto Body Pilot merged the ERP model with the EnviroStars Program, a voluntary program that certifies businesses for their efforts in preventing pollution. Ecology’s partners in developing the pilot and accompanying technical and self-certification materials included the Automotive Service Association of Washington, Auto Body Craftsman Association Northwest, Washington Department of Labor and Industries, Environmental Protection Agency, EnviroStars Program, and local governments.
