The Department of Ecology often chooses to work
with business types that have common problems to
conserve resources and staff. Some of our current
and most recent projects are described below.
Environmental Results Program Auto Body Pilot
was a project that offered self-reporting of
environmental performance and focused technical
assistance for collision-repair shops.
The Auto Body Pilot Technical Assistance
Manual, written for the pilot, covers
air, water, and waste rules and best
management practices for Washington's
collision-repair industry
Environmental Protection Agency Resources
Pollution Prevention
is the US Environmental Protection Agency's
site, providing general information about P2
practices, the various source reduction programs
and initiatives administered by EPA and other
organizations.
Pollution Prevention Information Clearinghouse
(PPIC) is dedicated to reducing or eliminating
industrial pollutants through technology transfer,
education, and public awareness.
Environmental Technology Verification Program
EPA's ETV Program develops testing protocols and
verifies the performance of innovative technologies.
The National Waste Minimization Program EPA's
Waste Minimization Program works to find ways to
help individual companies reduce the amount of waste
they generate.
Industrial Materials Recycling discusses the
benefits of industrial-materials recycling and
offers options for some common resources.
