Public Involvement

Welcome to the Nuclear Waste Program’s public involvement page. Providing public involvement opportunities is one of the cornerstones of Ecology’s success in regulating clean-up efforts at Hanford. Public input directs us toward the issues our citizens feel are the most important, which in turn enables us to more effectively enforce the milestones outlined in the Tri-Party Agreement.

Public Involvement opportunities are available on a number of issues.  Find out how you can get involved in the decisions that affect you.

Public Outreach Activities

Public outreach activities include public meetings, focus groups, workshops, open houses, and meetings with local governments and civic organizations. Public outreach activities promote public awareness, education, and involvement with Hanford Site cleanup and compliance decisions.

Public Involvement Calendar

The U.S. Department of Energy, Washington State Department of Ecology, and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency offer this calendar to help you keep track of scheduled meetings, public comment opportunities, and events related to cleanup efforts at Hanford.
