	Inventory Section Gather relevant reports, core working maps and photos/imagery
	Analysis Section Synthesize information from working maps, literature review and field visits. Prepare a shoreline characterization report and map portfolio.

SMP Handbook: Chapter 7, Shoreline Inventory and Characterization is now available. This is the first chapter of the SMP Handbook to be posted to Ecology’s website. Ecology made this chapter a priority in order to provide guidance to local governments now starting their SMP comprehensive updates. When it’s completed, the SMP Handbook will cover all aspects of the SMP update process.
