The Washington Conservation Corps (WCC) is your opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the environmental field. The WCC works year-round to protect and enhance Washington’s natural resources. By becoming a WCC Member, you will work with like-minded people making a difference.

Work outdoors throughout Washington State.

From the peaks of the Olympics to the fields of Eastern Washington, the WCC has 180 members located statewide. Click here for specific work locations.

Develop your résumé.

Trail building, restoration plantings, and biological monitoring are just a few of the tasks that you will experience while in the WCC. Additionally, WCC Members attend a series of paid trainings throughout the year (e.g. Wilderness First Responder, Wildland Firefighting, Hazardous Materials Response, Ethnobotany, and GIS/GPS). WCC Members must be 18 - 25 years old. Members earn $8.55/hour and receive a $4,725 AmeriCorps Education Award upon successful completion of one year of service (1700 hours). Basic medical benefits are provided and educational loan forbearance is available on qualified loans while in the WCC.

Hiring Update

We anticipate limited openings for 6-month positions and will begin accepting applications in January 2010, please check back then!

The WCC will not be accepting applications for 1-year positions until July 2010 for a start date of October 2010.
