Washington Conservation Corps

Ecology’s Washington Conservation Corps (WCC) is affiliated with federal AmeriCorps Program. WCC members are stationed in communities across the state and members receive special emergency training, including flood response. During floods, WCC crews can provide assistance to local governments including:

  • Sand bagging operations
  • Operating pumps and piping systems
  • Operational support for major flood events
  • Post-flood recovery (muck and gut)
  • Setting up emergency shelters
  • Removing downed trees and other debris.
