GIS data and Ecology grants

The Washington State Department of Ecology uses Geographic Information System (GIS) tools and procedures as aids in accomplishing its mission of protecting the land, air, and waters of the state. This technology is used widely in support of the agency’s geography-based approach to environmental management. Ecology strives to coordinate GIS data development under its grants and to ensure compatibility with established agency standards. More about GIS

Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan

Scope of Work: Planning

This page provides sample agreements for Flood Control Assistance Account Program (FCAAP) grants from the Washington State Department of Ecology. These documents give applicants a sense of the level of detail required for developing a grant scope of work. There are separate samples for the primary types of Flood Control Assistance Account Program grants:

  • Sample of a planning grant agreement used to develop a Comprehensive Flood Hazard Management Plan or other planning type project, and;
  • Sample of a flood damage reduction (construction) grant agreement used to stabilize a river bank and repair a levee; and
  • Sample of a floodplain acquisition agreement used to reduce repetitive loss properties and acquire that land for open space (parks, nature preserves, cultivation, grazing, and unimproved pervious parking areas), recreational use, or wetlands management purposes in perpetuity.
