Reviewing Your Drainage Plan

Having a basic understanding of how drainage (both surface water and groundwater) flows through and on your slope is the first step in trying to identify and solve drainage problems.
Once you've identified these problems, you can reduce or eliminate the causes of these problems through source reduction and control. If source control is not possible, then you can use one or more of the drainage techniques discussed to limit the adverse impacts of drainage on your property.

Proper drainage system planning, installation and maintenance can reduce the risk of slope instability. When you have questions or concerns regarding your plan, remember to contact experts or refer to additional sources of information.
