Coastal and Shoreline ManagementCoastal Zone Management - Includes Coastal Zone Management Grants Program, and Federal Consistency - a process that allows the public, local governments, Tribes, and state agencies an opportunity to review Federal actions likely to affect Washington's coastal resources or uses. Green Shorelines - Provide opportunities to improve shoreline habitat, restore natural processes, enhance recreational access, and increase enjoyment for property owners and the public. Marine Spatial Planning - Process that results in more proactive, comprehensive state decision-making that supports healthy oceans, coasts, and communities. Ocean Resources - It is important for Washington to protect, understand, and manage our ocean resources and to solve critical issues facing these resources and coastal communities. Shoreline Management - Includes information for citizens, local planners, and the media on Washington’s Shoreline Management Act (SMA) and local Shoreline Master Programs. Shoreline Master Programs - Local land use policies and regulations designed to manage shoreline use. They are created in partnership with the local community and Ecology, and must comply with the state Shoreline Management Act and Shoreline Master Program Guidelines. SW Washington Coastal Erosion Study - Examines the coastal evolution, processes, geology, and hazards of the Columbia River littoral cell (CRLC), extending along the Pacific Northwest coast between Tillamook Head, Oregon and Point Grenville, Washington. Watershed Planning - Track watershed planning efforts throughout the state. |
