Environmental ProgramsCoastal Zone Management - Includes CZM Grants Program, and Federal Consistency - a process that allows the public, local governments, Tribes, and state agencies an opportunity to review Federal actions likely to affect Washington's coastal resources or uses. Floods and Floodplain Management - Includes news and contacts list for local floods staff, emergency information and floods fact sheet. Padilla Bay Reserve - A cooperative program of Ecology and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Shoreline Management - Washington’s Shoreline Management Act (SMA), adopted in a 1972 referendum. More SW Washington Coastal Erosion Study - examines the coastal evolution, processes, geology, and hazards of the Columbia River littoral cell (CRLC), extending along the Pacific Northwest coast between Tillamook Head, Oregon and Point Grenville, Washington. Watershed Planning - Track watershed planning efforts throughout the state. Washington's Outer Coast Website - Explore the coast! Washington Conservation Corps - WCC crews provide services to protect and enhance Washington’s most valuable natural resources. Job opportunities are available for young adults age 18-25. Wetlands - Includes information on wetlands regulations and permits, education, mitigation and other on-going projects. Aquatic Habitat Guidelines (Dept. Fish and Wildlife site) - Facilitating the consistent application of good science and technical practice for projects affecting aquatic and riparian ecosystems. |
