Everett Shoreline Master Program: Limited Amendment

On August 17, 2015, the Department of Ecology approved the City of Everett’s Shoreline Master Program (SMP) limited amendment. Per RCW 90.58.090, the effective date of Everett’s SMP amendment is August 31, 2015, 14 days after Ecology provided notice to the city that their shoreline program was approved.

This shoreline master program amendment focuses on allowing multiple family residential uses in limited locations of the Urban Maritime Shoreline Environment as part of a master plan.

Everett’s shoreline consists mostly of Puget Sound and the Snohomish River. The city’s Puget Sound shoreline is mainly built out with the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad, port facilities, marinas, and the Everett Naval Base.

A public comment period held June 19 - July 10, 2015. Ecology used mail and email to notify interested parties of the public comment period. Ecology also issued a news release to encourage additional public participation and comment. No public comments were received.
