Redmond Shoreline Master Program: Limited Amendment

On May 20, 2014, the Department of Ecology approved the City of Redmond Shoreline Master Program (SMP) limited amendment. Per RCW 90.58.090, the effective date of Redmond’s shoreline program amendment is June 3, 2014, 14 days after Ecology provided notice to Redmond that their shoreline program amendment was approved.

This SMP amendment addresses minor changes to critical areas regulations (wellhead protection and frequently flooded areas) and the comprehensive plan natural environment element. The city’s critical areas ordinance and parts of the city’s comprehensive plan were previously incorporated by reference into Redmond’s Shoreline Master Program, requiring this necessary amendment to the shoreline program.

Ecology used mail and email to notify those who had expressed prior interest. Ecology also issued a news release to encourage additional public participation and comment. No public comments were received.
