Roy Shoreline Master Program: Limited Amendment

On August 23, 2016, the Department of Ecology approved City of Roy’s Shoreline Master Program (SMP) limited amendment. Per RCW 90.58.090, the effective date of the City of Roy’s amended shoreline program is September 6, 2016, fourteen (14) days after Ecology provided notice to the City that their shoreline program was approved.

The amendment revises the existing shoreline program, including updated critical areas regulations regarding wetlands, buffers, mitigation, analysis reports, and related provisions, and ensures that the SMP relies on the most current and accurate technical information about shoreline resources.

The Washington Department of Ecology held a public comment period from July 25 to August 9, 2016 on City of Roy’s proposed amendment to their SMP.  Ecology sent letters and post cards via US mail to notify stakeholders, including those who had expressed prior interest. Ecology also announced the comment period on this website to encourage public participation and comment. Ecology did not receive any verbal or written comments.
