Goldendale Shoreline Master Program: Comprehensive Update
Public Comment Requested - March 1, 2017 to April 3, 2017 at 5:00 p.m.
The Washington Department of Ecology seeks public comment on the City of Goldendale’s proposed update to its Shoreline Master Program. The City of Goldendale in Klickitat County has shoreline along the Little Klickitat River.
The City of Goldendale is updating their Shoreline Master Program (SMP) to reflect the local vision for appropriate shoreline development, public shoreline access, and environmental protection as required by the Shoreline Management Act (RCW 90.58). The comprehensive update revises the existing shoreline program, including the goals, policies, regulations, shoreline environment designations, and administrative procedures and definitions. This updated SMP increases protection and restoration of habitat and water quality, provides more certainty for development, and improves public access and recreational opportunities.
Ecology will compare the Goldendale proposed program to the requirements of the Shoreline Management Act and the Shoreline Master Program Guidelines. Based on the comparison, Ecology will decide whether to:

All interested parties are invited to provide comment about the proposed amendment during this public comment period. There are several ways to provide comments. You only need to submit your comments once.
