Lynden Shoreline Master Program: Comprehensive Update
Public Comment Requested - August 25, 2014 to September 25, 2014 at 5 p.m.
The Washington Department of Ecology seeks public comment on the City of Lynden’s proposed update to its Shoreline Master Program.
Lynden’s current shoreline program has not been updated since 1974. Shorelines within the city include Fishtrap Creek, Nooksack River and wetlands associated with these waterbodies. Lynden’s updated shoreline program will promote protection and restoration of the riparian habitat and recognize the city’s historic land use pattern.
Ecology will compare Lynden’s proposed program to the requirements of the Shoreline Management Act (Chapter 90.58 RCW) and the Shoreline Master Program Guidelines (Chapter 173-26, Part III WAC). Based on the comparison, Ecology will decide whether to:
