STEP 5 - Check that the Master Program Addresses Each Element of a Restoration Plan & Strategy

The Guidelines set out the elements of an adequate restoration plan element of a master program. WAC 173-26-201(2)(f)(i - vi) identifies the following:

  1. Identify degraded areas and impaired ecological functions and sites with restoration potential
  2. Establish goals and priorities for restoration of such
  3. Identify existing projects and programs, or likely programs, that contribute to restoration
  4. Identify additional projects and programs needed to achieve local restoration goals, and implementation strategies (Funding sources)
  5. Timelines and benchmarks for achieving goals
  6. Provide mechanisms and strategies to ensure that restoration projects and programs will be implemented according to plans and to appropriately review the effectiveness of the projects and programs in meeting the goals.
