Permit time extensionsThe permit time clock starts after all needed permits and approvals are received from all agencies. A permit's timeframe is usually 5 years but may be longer. Construction must commence within 2 years; a single 1-year extension may be granted. Permitted development must be completed within 5-year (or other) permit timeframe; a single 1-year extension may be granted. Local governments may revise a permit after its expiration under limited conditions.
