Joint Information Center Established

          In order to provide immediate response to the news media and the general public regarding the “248-P2” oil spill, at Point Wells a Joint Information Center has been established in conjunction with the spill’s unified command center.

          Representatives from the U.S. Coast Guard, Washington Department of Ecology, Foss Maritime Company  and ChevronTexaco Corporation are available to respond to news media inquiries.  From now on all media calls regarding the status of the spill response effort will handled through the Joint Information Center.

          The JIC and command center are located at the ChevronTexaco Point Wells Terminal.

          The news media only telephone numbers are: 206-546-7162.
