Clark, Cowlitz, SW Lewis Geographic Response Plan (CCSWL-GRP)

Toutle River

The Clark, Cowlitz, Southwest Lewis GRP planning area fully resides within Clark, Cowlitz, and Lewis counties. It includes over 13 miles of the Coweeman River, 51 miles of the Cowlitz River, 12 miles of the Kalama River, 17 miles of the Lewis River (including 16 miles of the East Fork), 2.6 miles of the Little Kalama River, and more than 8 miles of the Toutle River. Fully or partially, the cities of Castle Rock, Kalama, Kelso, Longview, Ridgefield, Vancouver, Winlock, and Woodland fall within the boundaries of this plan. The planning area also includes portions of Water Resource Inventory Area 23 (WRIA-23, Upper Chehalis), WRIA 25 (Grays/Elochoman), WRIA 26 (Cowlitz), WRIA 27 (Lewis), and WRIA 28 (Salmon-Washougal). The Clark, Cowlitz, and SW Lewis GRP planning area is bordered by the Chehalis GRP to the north and the Lower Columbia River GRP to the south and southwest.

Interim Updates

In between plan updates, GRP strategies are tested during drills and actual spill events. The results of these tests may require changes to certain response strategies, notification strategies, staging areas, or boat launch locations. Eventually, these changes will be fully incorporated into the plan. Until that time, please use the updated strategy and information sheets below in lieu of that provided for similarly numbered locations in the published plan.
