Public Hearing & Meeting: Fire Mountain Farms Draft Final Coverage under the Washington General Biosolids Permit

The Washington Department of Ecology seeks public comment on the Fire Mountain Farms application for coverage under the General Biosolids Permit, and further conditions that will be place up them in a Final Coverage Letter prepared by Ecology.

Fire Mountain Farms currently operates with provisional coverage under the General Biosolids Permit. As a requirement to maintain coverage under the most recent permit, effective September 2015, they submitted an updated application in March 2016. Ecology provided comment to Fire Mountain Farms regarding their submittals, in response Fire Mountain Farms provided updated documentation. Per WAC 173-308-310 (19), Ecology may add additional conditions via a Final Coverage Letter wherever it felt
portion(s) of the Biosolids Rule (WAC 173-308 Biosolids Management), the Biosolids General Permit, or the submitted documents, was not adequately addressed by the applicant. Ecology is seeking your comments on the content of Fire Mountain Farms application, supplemental documents, and draft final coverage letter conditions. Based on public input Ecology will decide if any further conditions need to be added to the final coverage letter.
