Facility information
The Specialty Minerals, Inc. plant in Camas reacts carbon dioxide from the Georgia Pacific pulp and paper mill with calcium hydroxide to make precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC). It produces about 75,000 tons of PCC each year.

The plant sends wastewater to the Georgia Pacific mill's wastewater treatment system. Treated wastewater is then sent to the Columbia River through Georgia Pacific's outfall 001.
