Other facilities that Industrial Section regulates are falling into two categories:
CHEMICAL PLANTS
Some of these plants produce chemicals used in kraft pulping process and are adjacent to major pulp mills.
Generally each facility discharges its waste water and storm water to the associated pulp mill
wastewater treatment system. Emerald produces a variety of organic chemicals many of which are used in the
food products industry. Agrium produces ammonium nitrate fertilizers.
