Cosmo Specialty Fibers (formerly Weyerhaeuser Cosmopolis)Location & HistoryThe mill is located in Cosmopolis, Washington, adjacent to the Chehalis River. It was purchased by Cosmo Specialty Fibers (CSF) in September 2010. Built by Weyerhaeuser in 1957 as a paper grade sulfite pulp mill, the company converted it to a dissolving and specialty grade sulfite pulp mill in 1962. Production under Weyerhaeuser stopped in September 2006. Capacities: CSF anticipates producing 140,000 tons of pulp for use by other companies and is currently hiring.
