For household pharmaceuticals, the interim recommendation is to
NOT flush your medications to the sewer or septic tank. Rather,
you can double bag your medications and place them directly into
your exterior garbage can to avoid children or pets getting a
hold of them. Ecology is currently facilitating a pilot project
with local pharmacies for consumers wishing to properly dispose
of their leftover medications. Visit
