Preliminary SMS Rule Language Prepared for the Sediment Cleanup Advisory Committee

In early October 2011, Ecology released preliminary Sediment Management Standards rule language  for discussion and comment with the Sediment Cleanup Advisory Committee. Three meetings were held with the committee to discuss the preliminary rule language in October, November, and December 2011.

Ecology will accept comments from the committee until 5:00 p.m. on January 18, 2012. If you wish to provide comments on the preliminary rule language, please submit your comments in the format provided in the SMS Comment Form . Your comments can be emailed to RuleUpdate@ecy.wa.gov, and viewed below; the list will be updated weekly.

Ecology will review all comments received and use this information to develop a formal draft of the SMS rule for public comment. We plan to have the formal draft of the SMS rule available for public comment in spring 2012.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your input.
