Chinook Ventures, Inc. Longview
SITE DESCRIPTION
Chinook Ventures currently is developing the old Reynolds Aluminum Smelter
facility in Longview, WA into a port facility. The Reynolds Longview facility was
closed in March of 2003. Chinook Ventures has removed the smelting apparatus in
each potroom and converted the empty buildings to dry bulk storage. Chinook
proposes to clean up the remaining 100 acres of the site and develop the area
into a private port facility. The old smelter is contaminated with fluoride,
cyanide and polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in soil and groundwater.
