1982	Proposed National Priorities List (NPL) listing for the Commencement Bay Nearshore/Tideflats site
1983	Ecology—EPA Cooperative Agreement makes Ecology the lead agency for investigating the nature and extent of contamination at the Superfund site
1984	NPL listing finalized
1985	Commencement Bay Nearshore/Tideflats Remedial Investigation completed by EPA
1988	Commencement Bay Nearshore/Tideflats Feasibility Study completed by EPA
1989	Record of Decision sets forth cleanup plans such as source control and sediment cleanup
1992	Ecology and EPA agree on a source control strategy
1996	Partial delisting of clean areas (St. Paul, Blair Waterways)
2003	Ecology determines source control has been successful (see EPA newsletter)
2004	Removal of contaminated sediments from Middle Waterway by EPA
2005	Dredging of the lower 2/3 (mouth and middle) of the Hylebos Waterway completed
	City of Tacoma completes dredging and capping of the Thea Foss Waterway near the Museum of Glass and Albers Mill
2006	Removal of contaminated sediments from the upper 1/3 (head) of the Hylebos Waterway Final capping of the Thea Foss Waterway
