How to find out if your home is in an area affected by the Tacoma Smelter Plume

On the right side of the screen,
1. Under the label “Primary Layer”, click the arrow and select “Tacoma Smelter Plume” from the list of options
2. Unclick the box next to “County/city”
3. Click the “Refresh” button (at top)

On the left side of the screen:

Click on the search tool*:

A pop-up "Search Menu" window should
appear (see at left).

If the pop-up window does not appear,
you may need to change your internet
settings to temporarily allow pop-up
windows.

Go to the bottom half of this window to
the “Street Address” label and enter
your street address and zip code into
the appropriate spaces (highlighted at
left).

Click on the button* that says “Zoom To” (highlighted at left). The map will
zoom in to your neighborhood.

If this does not work, you can use the
“Zoom In” tool to zoom in to your
neighborhood.

The legend on the right side of the screen
will tell you what the each map color
represents.

This information can also be found by
clicking on the map with the identify tool*.

* The buttons/tools will be either blue or brown depending on which tool is active.
