StakeholdersThe Port Angeles Rayonier Mill has a large impact on Port
Angeles and the larger community. Ecology involves many
stakeholders in the cleanup process--individuals, organizations,
and other government agencies. All stakeholders and the general
public are welcome to review and comment on
cleanup documents. Ecology works with the City of Port Angeles and a group of government agencies to ensure that the cleanup protects human health and the environment. In 2007, Ecology gave the City of Port Angeles a grant to explore visions for the future use of the Rayonier site. The City has brought together a diverse group of stakeholders to begin this process. More information is available at the City of Port Angeles Web site . Agencies include: Clallam County Environmental Health Division, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Washington Department of Health, the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry, Washington Department of Natural Resources, and the Olympic Region Clean Air Agency. |
