SeaTac International Airport
SeaTac International Airport
SITE DESCRIPTION
Ecology and the Port of Seattle, operator of the airport, entered into a
legal agreement called an Agreed Order on May 25, 1999. In response to the
order, the Port completed a comprehensive computer modeling study of the
groundwater throughout the airport area. The purpose of the study was to
determine if contamination associated with airport operations affected public
drinking water supply wells or surface water bodies outside airport property.
Results showed that contamination associated with airport operations will not
migrate off the airport property or impact the public drinking water supply
wells or surface water bodies outside airport property.
