SITE DESCRIPTION
Ecology is proposing to remove the Spokane Transit Authority Former Railroad
Property site from the Hazardous Sites List. The site is in a
commercial and industrial area and is currently vacant. The site is
located south of the Interstate Fairgrounds, north of Sprague Avenue, east of
Havana Street and west of Fancher Road in Spokane Valley, Spokane County,
Washington
The Hazardous Sites List is a list of contaminated sites throughout the state
that are ranked on a scale of one to five. One represents the greatest
potential threat to human health and the environment; five the least potential
threat. The site ranked a two.
Environmental assessments conducted on the property in 1998 and 1999 discovered
petroleum and arsenic in soil and arsenic in groundwater. For more details
