A public comment period is currently open on a draft Prospective Purchaser
Consent Decree for the Fenced Area of the Everett Smelter site. Information
about this comment period was sent out in early June. Several community members
requested a public hearing to discuss this agreement and how it fits into the
overall site cleanup. In response to this request, the Washington State
Department of Ecology will hold a public hearing on July 7th, 7:00-9:00pm, at
the Jackson Conference Room, Jackson Hall, Everett Community College, 2000 Tower
Street, Everett, Washington.
