Who should register?

Owners or operators of proposed UIC wells and UIC wells already in use. UIC wells only have to be registered once.

When to register?

Less than 50 wells register by January 2009
More than 50 wells register by January 2011

An Excel spreadsheet is available for owners of more than 50 wells. Contact the UIC Program Coordinator for more information.

Where to register online?

To register your UIC well using the web application, you must first sign up for SecureAccess Washington (SAW). SAW is a single sign-on application gateway created by Washington State's Department of Information Services to simplify access to the growing list of government services accessible via the Internet. Please complete the following instructions to access the UIC online registration forms.

  1. Set up an account with SecureAccess Washington
    • Go to SecureAccess Washington home: https://secureaccess.wa.gov/
    • To set up an account, click “Register for SecureAccess Washington.” Fill out the form and click “Register.” You will receive an email confirmation. Log in to access your account.
    • If you have a SecureAccess Washington account, click “Login to SecureAccess.”
       
  2. Add service for Underground Injection Control (UIC)
    • To add Underground Injection Control service, click “Add Service” on the left.
    • Click “View available services” next to Department of Ecology.
    • Click “Apply” in the column that corresponds to Underground Injection Control Application.
    • Your request will be sent to the Department of Ecology. Once approved, you will receive an email confirmation.
       
  3. Return to SecureAccess Washington > Services > Underground Injection Control
    • Once Underground Injection Control service has been approved, return to SecureAccess Washington home: https://secureaccess.wa.gov/
    • Login to SecureAccess.
    • Go to “Services” on the left. Under “Services with Access,” click “Underground Injection Control Application.
