Aquatic Invasive Species Management General PermitThe Aquatic Invasive Species Management General Permit (permit) is a combined National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) and State Waste Discharge General Permit. It covers the in-water treatment of aquatic invasive species animals and nonnative invasive marine algae. This permit will allow for the treatment of early infestations and for small localized projects that may lead to the eradication of the invasive species from each site, or for the containment of the invasive species to one area or site. The permit allows the discharge of a specific list of chemicals and control products into the fresh and marine waters of Washington. Who May Apply for Coverage?Washington State agencies may apply for coverage under this permit prior to implementing their invasive aquatic animal control activities. The Permittees for this permit may include the Washington State Departments of Agriculture, Fish and Wildlife and Natural Resources. Agencies that receive coverage under the general permit must comply with the terms and conditions of the permit. Current Permit Documents
